Orion Frontier Is Fully Funded: Lebanon's First Glow Community-Built Solar Farm

More than 800,000 GLW delegated to bring reliable, clean energy to a hospital that braced for every blackout, powered by people scattered across the world.

Orion Frontier Is Fully Funded: Lebanon's First Glow Community-Built Solar Farm

Something remarkable just happened, and it was coordinated by strangers who care.

Orion Frontier, Glow's first solar farm in Lebanon, has been fully funded. Better known as Hôpital Saint-Charles, this 250 kW farm pulled in more than 800,000 GLW tokens in delegation from a community that decided a hospital halfway around the world was worth showing up for.

Here's where things get exciting. Those 800,000 GLW represent more than four and a half weeks of inflation lifted out of Glow's circulating supply, from this single 250 kW farm alone. Weeks of inflation absorbed and turned into panels on a roof, sending diesel generators into retirement.

300 days of sun, two hours of power

Lebanon gets around 300 days of sunshine a year, and yet, it only gets about two hours of electricity.

"One of the sunniest countries on earth, rationing power by the hour, while the sun pours down on rooftops that sit idle." - Chris Denaro, COO

That gap is the reason Glow exists, and Orion Frontier is the first in a pipeline of solar projects intended to close it and bring stability to Lebanon's failing grid.

A community that doesn't just fund the mission, it directs it

None of this works without people who genuinely believe in it.

Glow has never been a spectator sport; it's fuelled by a community that buys into the long-term mission of delivering solar at scale to the places that need it most, and keeps showing up whether the market is euphoric or flat on its back. That belief is the real engine that sits at the heart of Glow.

What turns belief into megawatts is the way the incentives line up.

"Glow is one of the most powerful tools in the world, if not the most powerful tool for turning dollars into solar." - David Vorick, Founder and CEO

Glow is a financial tool that coordinates capital with precision toward scaling solar where it's most impactful, and it hands the steering wheel to anyone willing to drive the mission forward.

When you delegate GLW, you are not only backing the protocol; you are also deciding which farms are built and which regions benefit from the associated impact. That onchain influence, exercised through delegation, determines what net-new solar actually lands. The community both funds the mission and can steer it simultaneously.

Thank you, and here is what you built

So to everyone who delegated to Orion Frontier: thank you.

Your contribution pulls double duty. It rewards you with a share of GLW tokens over the next 100 weeks, and it helps bring clean, stable, and, in this instance, life-sustaining power to a hospital that used to brace for every blackout. In a place where dialysis machines, ventilators, and ICUs can't afford to fall silent, a reliable power source generates not only electricity but hope.

We want that impact to feel personal, because it is, and through our recent introduction of Watts, you can track exactly what you helped bring online, your own share of real solar capacity. And when a farm is fully funded, its capacity and its real-world impact are shared across everyone who helped build it. Orion Frontier is not Glow's farm; it belongs to the people who funded it.

More ways to take part

Funding farms is not the only way in.

Alongside Watts, you can earn Points, a spendable currency that rewards you for showing up. You earn them by:

  • Delegating GLW
  • Delegating sGCTL
  • Buying a Miner
  • Holding a weekly streak
  • Referring active users

That last one deserves a spotlight. Referring active users is one of the most valuable things you can do for Glow, and it is the perfect way in for anyone who wants to support Glow's mission by spending time, not dollars. By referring active users to Glow, you earn Points, which you can then redeem for Glow Miners in the Rewards shop. Those Miners earn you GLW tokens every week; a complete loop that starts with nothing more than sharing something you believe in.

Built through the war, and only getting started

Here is the part I am proudest of.

Orion Frontier is the first Lebanese farm the community has fully funded, but it is not the only one we have built. Five more Lebanese solar farms continued construction through the war, despite airstrikes, displacement, and a grid teetering on the edge of collapse; builders left the safety of their homes to help others. That's the true spirit of community, and you helped us inspire this outcome.

Soon, you will be able to help fund them too and carry the same clean, stable power to more of the region that has gone without it for far too long.
